Excel question: Out of memory on a VLOOKUP function.

Hello,

I am running into the dreaded "Excel cannot complete this task with available resources" dialog box in Excel while trying to fill a column with a simple VLOOKUP equation. I have one column with ~50,000 rows that I'm trying to fill from an array of ~275,000 rows based on a single shared key value. There's no problem with filling a small number of cells with the equation, but when I fill the whole column of 50,000 rows I get the error stating I'm out of memory. This is in Office 2007 on a 32-bit machine with 4GB of RAM. I had a conversation with our helpdesk here at work yesterday and they weren't sure if a 64-bit machine with more memory would run into the same limitation. Is there a good way to answer this? I want to include this operation in a macro and I'm not sure how to fill an entire column with this equation in a macro without having it stall out on me.

Please help

I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
